The Schatten VVM-2 PRO Violin/Viola Pickup uses a stick-on sensor that is completely removeable, and includes a side-mounted jack with an integrated thumbwheel volume control. The VVM-2 PRO is easy to install - no soldering or wiring required - and completely removeable.
Whether you're using the VVM-2 PRO on a violin or viola, you will find unparalleled sound quality and dynamic response. As with all of the Schatten pickups, the new VVM-2 PRO is designed to operate properly and sound terrific without the use of a preamp when running into any 'normal' amp (guitar amp, bass amp, etc.) If you are plugging into a PA system or mixer, you may require a preamp to increase the signal strength to match that equipment (preamp not included).
The VVM-2 PRO comes complete and ready to use. Installation simply means attaching the jack assembly to your instrument using the included adjuster tool, applying a bit of the included putty to the back of the pickup, and then sticking the pickup in place. That's about it. Total installation time for those who are all thumbs seems to average about 3 minutes. Placing the VVM-2 sensor on the bridge of a violin or viola is about as quick and easy as it gets.
This high output passive pickup will work well when plugging directly into your amplifier. If you are plugging into a PA system or mixer board, you may need a preamp to match the signal strength and impedance of that system. We recommend the Schatten Mini-Pre preamp for this pickup.
